The story follows Laura Biel, a young Polish woman who feels trapped in an unsatisfying relationship and emotionally distant from her partner. During a trip to Sicily meant to revive her relationship, her life takes a sudden and dangerous turn when she encounters Massimo Torricelli, a powerful and charismatic member of a Sicilian crime family.
Massimo reveals that he has been obsessed with Laura since seeing her years earlier during a traumatic moment in his life. Believing fate has brought them together again, he kidnaps her and gives her an unusual ultimatum: she has 365 days to fall in love with him. While Laura initially resists his control and refuses to accept the situation, she slowly becomes entangled in the luxurious yet dangerous world surrounding Massimo.
